Meet the Bunting-McCutcheon Family

Breya Leann Bunting, three year old daughter of Lisa Mccutcheon and David Bunting and half-sister of Trystan Bunting of Dardanelle, starting experiencing some sickness during the summer of 2013.  Breya’s parents were concerned when Breya couldn’t kick a low-grade fever, so they took her to the doctor.  After lab results showed some red flags, Breya was referred to the Arkansas Children’s Hospital (ACH).

On July 11, 2013 Breya was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (B-ALL) and began treatment immediately.  Her B-ALL became high-risk within the first month.  Since July, Breya has had multiple in-hospital stays at ACH and numerous out-patient treatments.  Breya seems to be in more of a routine now, making trips three times a week to ACH for treatment.  Breya’s family will find out soon if a bone marrow transplant will be necessary.

Although Breya looks like a normal three year old, she has a weak immune system.  Breya’s doctor and family must continuously monitor her lab readings to make sure her blood count is high enough for her to be exposed to the public.
